Structured Fox Purse.

 Hi y'all! Wow, I haven't been on here in a loong time... The good news is that I have a project I did to share with you! A little bit ago my mother was going through our things and came across this old camera bag that she bought to use as a purse. Even though this bag was pretty neat it needed something added to it to make it really unique and great. Being that I've been seeing a lot of fox things lately ( which I love) I decided that that was what I was going to add; a fox. So, take a look at what I came up with and tell me what you think! *being that it's hand painted, there are flaws...

The idea of the fox with a scarf was inspired by  Mr. Fox's wife in "Fantastic Mr. Fox."

DIY Union Jack Purse.

Most of the ideas I get come to me after looking at Pinterest. I’ve seen some Union Jack purses and *really* wanted one, but I would never afford one, or just decided to be happy with the purses I have now. Well I went through my closet last week and when I was going through my bags I found this purse that was great, but it lacked some style. Voila! After some Googling, I decided to give it a try. I just happened to have all the supplies I needed, which was awesome. 

I started with the plain man-made leather purse that I got from a thrift store. 

I used a white, blue, and red Acrylic paint. For the white I mixed it with some water due to it being a heavy body paint. 

First I sanded down the part where I was going to paint, then I wiped it clean with a rag that had some water on it. Next, I wiped it down with some nail polish remover. You will then need to tape off the section you want painted.

This is what the first coat of paint looked like. I did around two three white layers all together. 

The next thing I did was to draw on the design. 

After doing two coats for each color I got this. 

What do you think? Will you try painting your old, boring purse? I know I will do another one!

Two Tone Denim Skirt.

As I sit here watching football with my mom I decided this would be a good time to show you the new skirt I refashioned. I'm actually wearing this skirt right now. Well, I've been wearing it as much as I possibly can this week. hehe. It's definitely one of my favorite denim skirt now. :D So here's what I did.

As I was going through some of the skirts I don't wear anymore earlier this week, I came across these two denim skirts.

As you can see, one skirt has already been refashioned, but sadly it has been torn... 

 See, isn't it sad?? I got the idea to combine both skirts because the already refashioned one would be too short if I chopped the trim off.

 I cut the trim off and then measured where the 2nd skirt fit that circumference.

 Next, I sewed the two pieces together. The nice thing about using the bottom of the skirt was that I didn't have to hem! Yay!

Annnddd THIS this the end product. It turned out to be the perfect length! It took me a little while to get used to the two toned look, but now I really like it! What do you think? Would you wear something like this?

Aggie's Hoodie.

I made Aggie some sweaters awhile ago, but I never finished this green one.. You can check out how I made this one and the others Here. So here are some pictures of me embarrassing my dog. lol

Refashioned Dog Coats.

As my mother was getting ready to purchase a $20 dog coat at Petco, we realized that I could refashion a kids vest into a doggie coat. So off to the thrift store we went! Here is what I came up with.

These are two of the vests we chose... Pink looks really good on her and how could I pass up on the hearts.. ;)

I'm pretty sure she hated me after I tried this thing on her a million times. 

My complex way of finding her measurements... Yarn! :P Oh, I also had to cut the arm holes a little bigger so that they weren't too tight.

All done! See, doesn't pink look good on her. ;)

And here is the heart one. Aggie's wearing this one right now. lol

Denim Skirt Dilemma.

I've had this skirt for awhile now, but never really wore it....You know why? Because I didn't like the way it looked on me. It hit at an odd spot (or so I thought) and it just wasn't me. So, I decided that I had to do something about this. And this is what I did. :)

First, I measured how much I wanted to chop off the length.

Then, since I wanted it to be more of a pencil skirt, I drew a straight line down both sides. Next, I sewed along the line and trimmed off the excess. 

While this skirt hemmed itself (Oh, how I wish! I hate hemming  skirts....) I made cookies. Aren't I just an awesome multitasker. Ok, I'll admit that I might have messed up the cookies. 

Here's the sad part. Do you see that? The cookies only have 4 ingredients! It's such a simple and delicious recipe that we keep it on the fridge at all times.... So, here's how I made my mistake. I *ehem* put 3 scoops of a 1\3 cup of brown sugar. The recipe calls for 3\4s cup. *Hangs head in shame* Surprisingly, they came out pretty decent though! Back to the skirt...

I proceeded to hem the skirt. And once that was finished, I was done!! (Considering that I was a little worried on how it would turn out, yes 2 exclamation points were necessary.) Here's the before and after. :D

So, you might not be able to see the difference, but in person there's quit a nice change. Also, this is one of my new favorites!

Lace Peter Pan Collar.

So I started by lowering the neckline, it was just a tad too high for me.

Next, I chopped off the sleeves.

Then I trimmed the sides so that it fit better.

the only thing left was to cut, sew and attack the collar. (Not sure if you can see, but the collar is black lace.) 

Though this isn't the best  picture, it's the only one that really came out. What do you think? I love how it turned out. : D
