Aggie's Diary: Day 1.

So I thought I'd post what I think my dog's diary would be like. Her name is Aggie, hence the name. ;) I'm hoping to post once a week...

Dear Diary, I think I’m going to make a list.

·         Mary teased me by using peanut butter and not giving me any! How can she be so cruel? The worst part is that I think she did it on purpose… She kept smiling at me the whole time she was using it…I’m starting to get suspicious.

·         Then there’s David… I have this spot on the couch that he’s constantly trying to take. Whenever I get up he sits right down in MY spot. Who does he think he is?

·         Mom. Can you believe that she called me a crumbsniffer? I like to think of myself  as a crumb connoisseur.

·         Back to Mary. She’s constantly calling me a cat. I’m nothing like a cat. Just because I’m moody, love to lie in the sun, and scratch the humans all the time, does not mean I’m a cat.  Please, it’s not as though I act like I want to go out and then once I’m out want to go right back in…Oh wait… Umm never mind.

·         I honestly don’t know why they keep that stupid girl who’s always bothering me, Mary, around. She’s a horrible servant. For example: I like to change up the time I eat, sometimes it’s four, sometimes it’s five. Whenever I do that she tells ME I have to wait till she eats. I have to the authorities (aka Mom) about this.

The Girl In The Green Skirt.

Yesterday I was sitting around trying to think of what to do. Since school  has been out, I'm finding it hard to keep myself busy. After a while I realized that I had enough fabric left over from another project to make a skirt. (I'll be posting about the first project that I used this fabric for in the future.)

Ahh my trusty sewing machine.... Actually it's my moms... haha. I just repainted my desk, so I thought I'd so you a sneak peek at it. ;)

This is the pretty fabric that I used. I love bold colors!

First I measured where I needed to sew. It turned out that it was exactly the width and length I needed.

Time to sew up the sides!

Since I didn't want it to be too fitting, I attached some elastic and sewed some darts in the front as well.

Next it was time to hem and sew the waistband.

Here's how it turned out! I must say, I'm rather pleased with it. : )

Awkward....

I thought you needed to see 3 pictures in the same position took get the full effect. haha

So, what do you think? Have an awesome day!

Oh no, my geek is showing!

I started re-decorating my room about a month ago and one of the biggest problems I had was deciding what to put on my canvas... I had bought some really pretty butterfly stickers and was going to write a quote on the canvas, but I just couldn't think of a quote I wanted to use. Ugh, so typical me. THEN I had an idea!(Maybe my mom or brother thought of it, not sure..oops)  I LOVE the Avengers, so why not put the Avengers symbol on the canvas! Now, I know the colors aren't the same as the real symbol, but these are the colors of my room.

What do you think?

Here's what it looks like hanging up on my wall.

Now I don't know if you noticed that I have a picture of a hamster in a bumblebee costume. I actually made that costume for my hamster for a pet costume contest. Not only was he cute in the costume he won first place! haha!

Here's a closer look at him ;)

What do you think of the canvas? Were you able to tell what it was?
Have an awesome day!

Denim Skirt Dilemma.

I've had this skirt for awhile now, but never really wore it....You know why? Because I didn't like the way it looked on me. It hit at an odd spot (or so I thought) and it just wasn't me. So, I decided that I had to do something about this. And this is what I did. :)

First, I measured how much I wanted to chop off the length.

Then, since I wanted it to be more of a pencil skirt, I drew a straight line down both sides. Next, I sewed along the line and trimmed off the excess.

While this skirt hemmed itself (Oh, how I wish! I hate hemming  skirts....) I made cookies. Aren't I just an awesome multitasker. Ok, I'll admit that I might have messed up the cookies.

Here's the sad part. Do you see that? The cookies only have 4 ingredients! It's such a simple and delicious recipe that we keep it on the fridge at all times.... So, here's how I made my mistake. I *ehem* put 3 scoops of a 1\3 cup of brown sugar. The recipe calls for 3\4s cup. *Hangs head in shame* Surprisingly, they came out pretty decent though! Back to the skirt...

I proceeded to hem the skirt. And once that was finished, I was done!! (Considering that I was a little worried on how it would turn out, yes 2 exclamation points were necessary.) Here's the before and after. :D

(Sorry for the not so great pics, it was late at night and.... ya.....)
So, you might not be able to see the difference, but in person there's quit a nice change. Also, this is one of my new favorites!

Hope you enjoyed reading this. :) Have an awesome rest of the day!

Nightstand.

So, lately I've been trying to redecorate my room. I started with my lamp, (which you can find here) but it's taken a while for me to get started on the other items. Finally, I was able to finish my nightstand this week! I'm soo pleased with how it came out. Let me just say, I've never been so nervous while painting strips....Then again, I don't think I've ever painted stripes before....Hahaha.

What do you think? Do you like the way it turned out? I absolutely love it!

It's not the best photo, but it gives you an idea of what the top looks like.

I'm so glad it turned out exactly how I wanted it to!

Oh, sorry I don't have a tutorial of how I did it... All I can say it that I followed this video, then made a template out of cereal box and traced the pattern right on the nightstand....Have a great night!
